Description

This is my entry for the Character Lab Contest. It's no where near done this isn't even the latest version I've made, but I'll submit the finish version later. Other then the contest this is also for my Art teacher had back in High School and the band he's in called The Hipwaders.

Tronix doesn't feel so good because a mission didn't go as planned. Little did he know, having lost track time, that it was Christmas back on Earth. Trinity surprises him with gift and cheers him up. It's a Cd by The Hipwaders and Tronix, Trinity, and JoJo the robot travel through Space and meeting alot of fun Aliens along the way.

I kinda don't get the story from the film itself, it seems like you're emphasizing in the music than the animation, thus your animation has become more like a video clip than a film.

Some animation feels floaty movement, might be a little makes sense when it's in zero gravity but it still needs more work on the animation to make it feels more natural.

About the story, you should think more about how to tell the story with a film, remember that you're making a film that will be watched by other people, so you have to make your film more understandable from most people's point of view, and this was never been easy, since different person have different perspective about many things. The best way to check if your film is storytelling enough is ask your friend to watch your film and ask him/her "Do you understand what is this film telling you about?" if your friend says yes, then you're successful, if you need to explain some difficult things but your friend know the main idea, you're partially successful, but if your friend says no and you need to explain everything, consider yourself failed.

Then about the camera, your camera angles also need to be worked on more, and constant speed of the camera movement.... hmm I don't think there's any nicer way to say this but... I have to apologize to say that constant speed of camera movement feels like an amateur work. And mostly you use eye-level camera angle and high angles, and it'll make your objects in the camera frame seems small, especially when the rocket ship scene entering the wormhole. Your camera angle in this one makes the rocket ship like a size of toy.

And lighting setup... I think you should use more fill lights in your scenes, some areas are unnaturally too dark, probably three-point lights or dome-light would be enough.

Overall... I say for animation this is still below the safe level, you need to keep improving on animating the characters, setting the lighting, material, and camera angles.
